Max & Wookie

Okay! Nobody get the idea I like cats, I’m a normal Great Dane and I despise cats. Just let the little creatures come in my backyard and they’ll see just how fast I am. Gatos, Conejos, I chase them all. I don’t actually eat them, I would but they taste nasty!

So how did I get stuck with this particular feline in my life?

First, she was here when I came, and by all accounts she spent her kitty days on the streets with the feral cats.

Second, I’ve tried! I’ve growled, barked, lunged, and ran full out at her. Nothing fazes her! She just stared at me with her “Stupid” stare. It’s like she’s saying “Come on stupid, I’ll peel you like an orange!” Now she just gives her “Give me a Break” stare . . .

Third, when I arrived there was another cat, his name was Geechu. He left to chase Coyote. This Geechu was a huge cat, Grandma said he was 18 pounds. He was here when Wookie came, and made the mistake of trying to, well, let’s say “romance” Wookie. To hear Grandpa tell the story he was sitting in his office and heard a terrible noise, he ran around the corner and fur was still in the air! He saw Geechu sitting there looking completely surprised, and there was Wookie ,paw reloaded ,and ready to strike again. Grandpa says the look on her face should be captioned, “Come on, Buster, you want some more of this?”

“Oh, shut up Max! First of all your not a Great Dane, you’re a Jack Russell with a Napoleon Complex. If you’re going to sit there, scratch my back, will ya! Or go terrorize the Postman again. Oh yeah, he’s got your number too, what kind of Moron barks, growls, and viciously charges someone, only to lick them when he gets there? Sheesh!”

See what I mean, no respect. One of these days Alice!

Hi David,
I'm really enjoying reading your blog (and getting to know Max et al too)... and it looks like you're enjoying it too :-) It's a good way to share with the wide world out there and I'm glad there's good teaching material here too. Thanks again,
Janine

I am enjoying it so much, and I haven't done this much writing in a long time. I'm only having trouble deciding how fast to release the next chapter so it's not overwhelming, so if anyone can share their insight on the pace I would love it.

I'm already two chapters ahead on the Kodo series.

I also find the abitlity to use videos and photos very exciting. That was the major limitation with the Incense list. I've been trying a diffrent approach to presenting Kodo and that is to slow down and take it from the perspective of attending Kouseki (Incense Ceremony) in Japan.

I also appreciate your support through this transmission very much. I'm going to be in NYC in August but I'm guessing you will be back in SF.

Some day we'll have to figure out a way to wave "hi" as our planes cross paths going opposite ways!

The cool thing is how much "room" you have to keep information here. One thing you can do too, is adjust the dates of the posts (you can change them)... or just save them but not publish so that when you want to publish you can just pick the post out and do it. Anyway, I am glad to see how much fun you're having and new stuff you're doing. I have yet more invitations from Facebook so I'm getting closer to really doing it but we'll see. i think this blog is a GREAT resource and I'm so glad it's here.

I wouldn't worry about the pace - just do it your way. The cool thing about blogs is you can read a post 3 years old and if it's what you're looking for it's brand new (comes up in a search, too).
yours again
Janine
