American History Perspective – Pt. 2

Published with permission of “Brer Rabbit”

Like I said before, In 1956 grocery stores were much smaller not having to house 20 acres of cardboard containing mostly air. So here is an idea to solve the energy crisis, but first let’s put it in perspective: What made Coca Cola the Soft drink leader? Well, some say it was “Bottle It” but in reality Hires Root Beer was shipping bottles in 1893 and Coca Cola began in 1899. The genius of Coke, the idea to bottle it locally is historically unclear. Was it the Mississippi candy maker Joseph Biedenharn who first bottled Coke in 1894, or the two Tennessee lawyers who brought the national franchise rights, or Asa Candler himself? At any rate, it was the idea to add the water locally and ship concentrated syrup that saved the money on shipping cost.

So here is my idea. We already have air in most parts of the country, so instead of filling the highways and rails with containers full of boxes of air, let’s ship only the product itself and add the air locally! This would also allow us to build smaller grocery stores, save millions in air conditioning boxes of air . The overall environmental impact would be immense.
