American History Perspective – Pt.1 1956

Articles submitted and printed with permission by “Brer Rabbit”

In 1956 a dishwasher was powered on Macaroni & Cheese and Tuna Casserole. Mac & Cheese was called Mac & Cheese because it was made from macaroni & cheese and not some facsimile of macaroni combined with some preservative based cheese flavored powder conceived by chemists in a laboratory. It took exactly the same time to prepare but couldn’t be purchased in the same box. It took extra effort in the grocery requiring a visit to both the Dry Goods and Dairy sections, of course stores were much smaller not having to house 20 acres of cardboard containing mostly air.

NOTE: Posts are out of sequence, Pt.2 is below instead of on top as it should be, but what the Hell, this is a new century and lots of things are now on top that used to be on bottom!
